Joelle Farha

Joelle Farha, BSc, MSc.

I am a DHA Registered Clinical Dietitian and I have been practicing since 2007.

Education

I was awarded my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. I also attained a Master’s Degree in Food Service Management, Hygiene and Quality Control. Both were achieved at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, in Lebanon.

Experience

After completing my dietetic internship in 2007, I started working as a clinical nutritionist in a private clinic. I also spent a few months in a reputable diet center, where I was responsible for hygiene and quality control over food production. There I gained experience in:

• Menu planning
• Purchasing and storage
• Food production
• Sanitation
• Cost control
• Accountability

During my work with the Lebanese army, I presented lectures about sports nutrition, ergogenic aids, supplements and health awareness. I studied the prevalence of obesity among soldiers; causes, risk factors and treatment. I conducted one-to-one counseling, creating everyone an individualised meal plan.

At the Francophone Games, in Lebanon, in 2009, I managed a professional team of 120 cooks, who prepared and served 3500 meals daily, for the athletes.

In the media

I have been a frequent guest spokesperson on different Lebanese and Arab TV stations (e.g. Tele Lumiere, Orbit Al Yawm TV, Mariam TV, Nour Al Shark, Hiya Al Maraa al Arabiya, Annahar News online). I was the host of two TV programs: “Tabkha” and “Eat Well with Joelle”.

I have also appeared on various radio stations (e.g. Voix Du Liban, Radio Liban, Rotana Delta) and my articles have been published in many newspapers.
